Ranting about Roaches

There are only two ever bugs which bug me on a sufficiently frequent basis. Others, I don't mind. They are:

1. Cockroaches - the harbingers of immediate death;

2. Millipedes - the harbingers of slower death.

Firstly, a millipede with far too many legs, slimy and stingy; born as a punishment! I can only wonder the little cacophony of tick-ish sounds its feet make when tapping on the ground - obviously too faint for human ears. But to organisms even smaller than the bug, it would seem like a train of oppression. The more the number of legs, the more chances of being consumed. Thankfully, they aren't fast - like cockroaches, those buggers! At least after you go into shock of spotting Mr. Milli, you don't immediately die.

If it is a cockroach, you will first go into shock - your heart will physically stop for a beat on the sight of it. Now, when it is supposed to recover from that shock, it will further stop for a second beat as soon as that ill excuse of life will start flying towards you. Without even one palpitation, it is death, physiologically!

So, at least millipedes don't serve you death like Mr. Basilisk. Such an irony - as if the Bug World has orders out against humans: KILL ON SIGHT!

Centipedes are more docile, simply earthworms with multiple legs. Millipedes on the other hand are resurrected straight from Hell, for vengeance - only second to Cockroaches though...)

Yet, something about these bugs (Centi and Milli) is so calm when spotted in nature; a reckoning of the fact of life - on a leaf, (eating a dew?). Beautiful indeed.

Except for cockroaches, that is. I bet you cannot thing of a single place on this planet where you would find these pests and thank your circumstances for being around them. I really don't know what purpose their stubborn existence serves. "Annoying other beings ever since Dinosaurs", that would be their tagline, if every species was given one.

P.S. This piece is for humor purposes. If you like cockroaches, continue to... But let's never meet!
