This little piece is not for a whole lot of people, for they may not relate to it. (BTW, listening to Louisa May Alcott’s Little Women , because English is my second language and middle grade novels are on my TBR lately!) . Let’s discuss Feminism. More precisely, lets discuss a strain of thought of Feminism which has been widely misunderstood and convoluted in the public domain – very efficiently due to this age of the internet.  I’ll do examples first and theory later – so this becomes more readable! Have you come across a nasty incident on a metro one day where a man does not give up his seat for a pregnant lady because we are all ‘equal’? Have you seen that viral video a couple of months back where a middle-aged lady is shouting away – on God knows what – yelling, “who here is a gentleman enough”. This too, takes place in a metro. There are some interesting words in the dictionary; many defined in the most refined way and others in a simple manner. And then there are those words which can't be. They are like an emotion of sorts and given a little human thought, they become a part of you. According to many, sadly, yes. It's about the wars of succession fought and the number of females won in a battle. And the moment you get to know the name of the winning side, your knowledge...

THE SECRET RENDEZVOUS

The sole jewel in the sea  was fancied by all One such was a stalker who was a little torn Between loving him and fearing him she kept herself drowned and wished herself equal in his eyes most of all. When she grew to be a menace the jewel secretly called out Feigned a little rendezvous “Let's rock a friendly bout!” She goaded at the invitation Having fallen into the trap She swam creepily, stealthily victorious and full of clout. Alas! The jewel had sent in his stead a Rajput scout while he had rested and rocked the existing anchors all about. The birth of a new people was the herald of that day; While to a deathly fate condemned Ghazi flamed to her end. Note: This poem is published on the event of the commissioning of INS Vikrant on 2nd September, 2022 and serves to remember the legacy of India’s first carrier of the same name of 1971 fame.
